My sister and brother in law visited us from Tennessee on their way to Galveston Texas, we all decided to do the JFK Tour. It was extremely surreal and humbling to stand on the X, stand behind the fence on the grassy knoll, and glaze out the window. I was surprised that Dealey Plaza has not changed except the trees have grown larger. The book depository building The fence and the grassy knoll. The Overpass The angle of the shots. Excerpt from JFK’s speak he was going to deliver in Dallas. The view from one floor up. You can’t get to the 6th floor window, it is preserved as it was behind thick plexiglass. Very surreal as Matt contemplating the shots that changed history one floor below. The lighting was so perfect we all took turns at the window. There is a live webcam inside the cardboard box where Lee Harvey Oswald made two maybe three shots. Across the street from Dealey Plaza is the Old Red Court House. Statue of George Dealey.
The overall area is much smaller that it looked on the movies and TV. I highly recommend if you are ever in the Dallas area, you should budget a couple hours and take the JFK Museum tour.Life is good and I am blessed!
