Day 3 of Manny the Mandarin Duck

Went back to Centennial Park in Irving Texas last Sunday 2/7/16 to meet up 30 or so “Birds Of Texas” fellow photographers.  This time was more about helping others and giving back.  The few shots I did take I was trying to get different expressions and poses.

OK, I feel better, almost caught up, but then again today was Day 1 of a three day eagle owl trip to Northern Illinois / Iowa along the Might Mississippi River.

Mandarin Duck Day 2

After editing the photos from Saturday 1/30/16, I decided to ride the Harley back to Centennial Park in Irving Texas to get more Male Mandarin Duck photos.  Saturday I had great light but there was a light breeze and a chop on the water.  I was totally happy with Saturday’s photos.  The only thing I was looking for while editing was a full mirror reflection shot.

Never really figured I would be lying facedown in duck and goose poop with my camera hanging over the water trying to get low enough to make the shot happen I had in my mind.

Still too much refraction in the reflection.PBKJ3408-FrameShop

Not sure how many full frame Mandarin duck photos I need but the total is up over 600 and will be growing.  I am taking a couple over this weekend for some in field instruction on this great subject!
