Mandarin Duck – a lifer for me

I am active on several Nature and Wildlife forums with my eagles and owls.  I have always thought their photos of a Male Mandarin Ducks almost look fake.  But today after a tip from one of my new Texas Photography buddies, I now too have photos of the fanciest Duck hand colored by God.PBKJ3252-FrameShopPBKJ3224-FrameShopPBKJ3115-FrameShop PBKJ3163-FrameShop PBKJ3189-FrameShop PBKJ3198-FrameShop PBKJ3205-FrameShop

Not sure what is going to get in front of my camera lens next, but do have a tip on several wood ducks and have found a red tail hawk nest.

  1. Ok Kent, where did you hide the paints? LOL! Those were by far the best I have seen! I had NO clue there was a duck that looked like that! Nice pics! By the way, you are NOT missing much up north here. The Eagles are around, but scarce. My Wife and I have found 5 Nests between Rockford airport and Sterling, IL. Just not enough ice I guess.

    • thank you! I figured I would never see one, let alone spend two days with him and 300-400 full frame photos. I’m coming up to L&D 14 Feb 12th, it better be ice and bitter cold and tons of my eagles!
